On Friday June 8th, the Orlando Business Journal held their annual awards luncheon for the 2018 Fast 50 honorees. President, Joe Hurt, accepted the award on behalf of RLH. This event showcases the top 50 privately owned companies across Central Florida ranked by percentage of growth over three years. RLH had 182.81% growth!

RLH RISES TO #9 IN THE TOP 50 FASTEST GROWING COMPANIES FOR 2015

On Friday, June 5, the Orlando Business Journal held their awards luncheon for the 2015 Fast 50 Honorees. COO Joe Hurt accepted the award for RLH. This annual event showcases the fastest growing privately owned Central Florida companies based on revenue by percentage growth over the past two years. Several construction companies were on the list showing the continued rise in the industry.

RLH COO Joe Hurt Named C-Level Award Honoree

Joe Hurt - CopyEvery year, the Orlando Business Journal celebrates Central Florida’s top CIOs, COOs, CFOs, CMOs and CXOs of distinction. (A CXO is a Chief Experience Officer, by the way.)

Our own Joe Hurt was selected as an honoree in his role as Chief Operations Officer.  All 28 honorees will be recognized at an awards luncheon on July 18 at the Hilton Orlando.

Update:  The OBJ interviewed Joe Hurt with a questionnaire, where he was asked about his “bucket list” and a surprising fact.  Read his answers here.  Richard and Joe were interviewed on video during a pre-awards reception held at the Citrus Club in downtown Orlando.  The footage from these video interviews will be used at the Awards Luncheon, where the finalists will be announced.  Good luck, Joe!

RLH #17 on the Fast 50 List

At long last, the companies that landed a spot on the Orlando Business Journal’s Fast 50 list discovered their place in the lineup.  The countdown of companies took place at the OBJ’s award luncheon celebration today.

RLH came in as #17 on the list.

Conspicuously, several construction-related businesses were awarded this afternoon, a positive indicator for the industry.

RLH Named in Top 50 Fastest-Growing Companies

Today, the Orlando Business Journal (OBJ) unveiled the 2014 Fast 50 Honorees. The Fast 50 Awards celebrate Central Florida’s 50 fastest-growing privately owned companies. The honorees qualified based on revenue by percentage growth from 2011 to 2013.

All companies that made the list will be honored at the OBJ’s 2nd annual awards luncheon on June 27. The June 27 weekly edition of the OBJ will announce the companies’ actual ranking.

RLH Wins Eagle Award for Aristocrat VW

Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. (ABC) has awarded RLH Construction an Eagle Award in the Commercial ($5 to $10 million) Category of its annual Excellence in Construction competition. The 30,000-square-foot Aristocrat Volkswagen East project is the 2nd design-build VW “White-Frame” prototype in the United States. The entire 11-acre site was previously wetlands. Once mitigated, a 1,500-lineal-foot segmented block retaining wall was installed with heights varying from six to ten feet. 56,000 cubic yards of import fill (approx. 2,889 dump trucks) were placed. A naturally-occurring stream was routed underneath the site and conveyed through two 60” RCP.

Meeting the stringent specifications of VW North America, this project was delivered in nine months, on time and under budget.

The Excellence in Construction Awards program recognizes the exceptional work for an entire construction project for general contractors. Projects are judged on execution of design, quality of craftsmanship, attention to detail, proper installation, outstanding coordination efforts, challenges successfully overcome, project complexity, custom materials, safety program, and owner satisfaction. The Eagle Award is the Central Florida Chapter’s highest recognition.

RLH Earns Gold for Safety 5 Years in a Row

ABC member_logoAssociated Builders and Contractors, Inc. (ABC) has awarded RLH Construction a Gold Level of achievement in the Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP).  The award recognizes RLH for our ongoing efforts in the development of a quality safety program for 2013.  This is the fifth year in a row RLH has qualified for the Gold Level STEP Award.

The STEP program was developed and written by contractors, for contractors.  It is a way for companies to enhance their safety and loss prevention programs and provides objective methods to measure safety performance.
